Mai-Tai:

  • 1 1/2 oz lemon juice
  • Ice
  • 1/2 oz orgeat or almond syrup
  • 1/2 oz DeKuyper Triple Sec
  • 1 oz Cruzan Light Rum
  • 1 oz Cruzan Dark Rum

Add ingredients together in a traditional/old-fashioned glass and shake. Add a cherry pick and lime wheel for garnish.

The modern Mai-Tai is based on the recipe of Victor J. Bergeron from his California restaurant Trader Vic’s, though as with most recipes, there is dispute as to who actually created it. Mai-Tai is actually taken from the Tahitian word maita’i, meaning good or excellent.
